thinking of getting a nexus 5 but need it to last ages. is it possible to change the battery for a better one?

no it would not be probable to do this because of the complexity of the battery, it defeats the object of the phone (cheapness) to buy a better (more expensive) batery

That's not how it is at all, as an owner of the Nexus 5 you can't replace the battery and put in an extended one because it's a non removable back. There isn't space for one.

OP, I have the Nexus 5 and I'm ~8 hours on battery with 3 of screen on and ~6 of music playback via Shuttle+. The batty is fine, screen is at ~40% brightness.
