I am thinking about buying a Jtag. But I have no clue which one would be the best to buy. Or how much it would cost. Or where to get one. Someone please fill me in!

Jaspers have the lowest chance of getting the Red Ring of Death. Go to the market place, there are trusted sellers which are best to buy from and they are others. JTAG will run you anywhere from 100-300 more or less depending on what you get.

Honestly since the Xbox One just came out then a Jtag or RGH might be less worth it now, but if you plan to actually use it to it's full potential (Play downloaded games, custom dashboards, run unsigned code, download dlc etc.) then I'd say it'd be perfect to get one. Different motherboards also have certain upsides and downsides, so different motherboards are usually used for different things.

Xenon:
Cheapest Jtag.
Most prone to the Red Ring of Dead.(RROD)
Does not have HDMI.
Not recommended for offline modding as it heats up quickly causing RROD.
Recommended for online lobby hosting.
Oldest type of Jtag (2005 motherboard).
Cannot be RGHed or R-Jtagged at the moment.

Zephyr:
Exact same as Xenon besides two changes.
Can only use KV type 2.
Has HDMI.
Second motherboard to be released (2007)
They are not very popular as they can only use one type of KV and suffer the same RROD problems as the Xenon.
Can also be RGHed and R-Jtagged, but are usually hit or miss and can cause the console to not boot up at all.

Falcon:
Has HDMI.
Less prone to getting RROD.
Also good for hosting online.
Heats up slower than Xenon.
Not as old as xenon but not as new as Jasper (2007 Motherboard).
Can be Jtagged, RGHed or R-Jtagged. RGH1 has a lot better boot times, mostly instant boot, so there's almost no difference between RGH1 and Jtag

Opus:
Exact same as a Falcon besides one change.
Does not have HDMI.
Released 2008,but still as reliable as a Falcon.
Little is known about them and are rare to be found Jtagged. Can also be RGHed and R-Jtagged, but could be expensive because they are rare.

Jasper:
Uses type 2 KV's.
Has HDMI.
Has internal memory of either none, 256mbs or 512mbs.
RROD is practically unknown.
Does not suffer heating up problems.
Highly recommended for offline modding.
Newest type of motherboard to be Jtagged (2008 Motherboard)
Most expensive Jtag available. Can also be RGHed or R-Jtagged, RGH1 and R-Jtag has better boot times than RGH2.

Trinity:
First Slim motherboard (2010)
Also known as the "Vejle" or "Valhalla" motherboard.
Enjoys all the same perks as the Jasper.
Even lower chance of RROD than Jaspers.
This motherboard is exclusive to the Xbox 360 Slim.
This is the motherboard where the HANA Chip can be exploited via the RGH Exploit.

Corona:
Comes in six different versions.
Odd numbers came with a 250GB HDD from stores, even's came with 4GB on-board memory and cannot have Dual-NAND glitch.
V1, V2, V3 and V4 are generally the same, no notable difference in the way they process gaming.
V5 and V6 are the somewhat new Xbox 360E and are the most expensive overall.
They are kinda universal, used for online and offline, but simply do not overheat.
They are only RGHable.

All of this was from iPotabo's stickied post found Here but updated a bit to current-date stats

The consoles are prices accordingly, Xenon starting at usually around $90 and Corona getting to about $180, the only exceptions are the Jasper Jtag which can be sold really expensive because they're pretty much the rarest consoles available, and a dual or triple NAND xbox, which can be booted two different ways, allowing the console to boot as a retail Live ready console and also boot up as an RGH console by flipping a switch

As for the where and how much, check the stickied sellers here, their prices are pretty accurate for the motherboard of the console, but they might be a bit upcharged because they are trusted sellers, so you know what they advertise is exactly what you get

You can purchase a JTAG or an RGH from the marketplace. I wouldn't recommend getting an RGH or a JTAG if you only want to host COD lobbies But at the end of the day it's fun
