You would have to buy XBLSE and a kv if you don't have an unbanned one.

Jtags/R-Jtags/RGH are all the same for going online..boot times vary, some are better for offline use/online use..etc

Like Logs said, If you have an unbanned KV you just need to buy and setup stealth on your system and you will be fully stealthed to go onto xbox live.
