First let me say that I am the highest prestige on every CoD except Ghosts and I am a Colonel 100 on BF3 and BF4 so I have played both series for some time.
I always used to play Call of Duty more than Battlefield on the 360. Call of Duty was very fast and fun while Battlefield was a little slower paced depending on what gametype you played because of the 12v12 limitations.
However, now I feel that the tables have turned. Battlefield 4 on Next-gen is super fast paced because of the 64 player level cap and Ghosts is just kind of dull and slow because of bigger map sizes and still 6v6 or 9v9 games.
I would recommend Battlefield 4 to anyone with a next gen console... except it is not a finished game as of now.
There are ALOT of stability problems with BF4 depending on the system you are playing on and from what I understand, PS4 is the worst. I play on Xbox One and I experience crashes every now and then but apparently it happens more often on PS4. The reason for the issues is EA wanted to release the game before Call of Duty and DICE had no choice but to ship what they had. The game will be hopefully be fixed in a month or two but until then, it may be aggravating at times.
But in the end, it is up to you and what you prefer as a gamer. I hope you make the right choice for yourself.

Depends on your play style and what kind of game you enjoy! In my opinion battlefield is for more experienced players lol
