Im planning on purchasing a Macbook air later this month. My question is before you purchase it gives you a option to upgrade the laptop, should I be spending more money to upgrade this laptop.

Should I wait for the new macbook to come out or did it already just come out?
Should I spend more money on upgrading the laptop?
If I dont upgrade the laptop could I buy the parts to upgrade it myself

This laptop is going to mostly be used for school (Word, Powerpoint excel etc) also mild gaming such as Minecraft.

If you dont know what upgrades im talking about here it is

The Macbook air you picked is the most current Macbook Air that was released in June of 2013. In all honesty, I would spend a more hundred bucks on the ram so that the system doesn't become as obsolete in the future. And be forewarned, you can not replace practically anything in an Air. The ram is soldered to the mobo, cpu as well, glued in battery and etc.... The only thing that you can actually place is the SSD. If you're looking for upgradability in the future, get the base line non-Retina Macbook pro as you'll actually get the opportunity to swap out parts in the future and it also has much more processing power than the Air's cpu. But the 2012 Macbook pro does have weaker graphics than the 2013 Macbook Air. So you decide. Best regards, if you need any assistance, just shoot me a message.

Alright thanks Im probably just going to upgrade the ram to 8 gigs and purchase a bigger SSD myself because it is going to be alot cheaper than upgrading it through apple. I cant really use the Pro because I need something I can carry around alot
