This is my first tutorial I've written for any site, so hopefully it's not horrible and you guys can follow along easily

Things you will need:

A computer manufactured by apple (incase you didn't read the title)

Virtual Box (a free program that functions much like parallels, it's awesome)

A copy of windows XP or higher (I used windows XP for the mod)

Apache usbwebserver: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Virus Scan for above: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

An Ethernet Cable
Know your IP Address (IPv4 for Post windows XP)
Six Pack of your favorite Beer!

1. Downloading/installing Virtual Box:

Google search virtual box if you don't have it already. install the application and then follow the instructions inside of virtual box to install your preferred version of windows. I will not elaborate on this too much as it is very simple and almost self explanatory once you start.

2. Configuring Virtual Box to recognize Machine Hardware:

When you have Windows installed and working properly, you'll need to make sure that it has "access" to all of your machine's hardware.

Click settings (Inside virtual box) before you launch windows. inside the settings menu, click the "system" icon near the top left. Make sure the "Network" box (as pictured below) is checked.

Next, Click the "Network" icon located several icons to the right of the "system" icon. The "Adapter 1" tab will already be highlighted. In the "attached to" menu, select the option for "Bridged adapter." Under the "Name" menu, select "Wi-Fi (AirPort)" from the drop down menu. This ensure windows can access your wireless card. see below image:

Now select the "Adapter 2" tab. Once again, In the "Attached to" menu select "bridged adapter." Under the "Name" field, select "en0: Ethernet" option. See Below image:

You are now ready to launch Windows

3. Apache Webserver Installation:

After booting windows in Virtual Box, click start/control panel/Network and internet connections/Network connections, and you should see two LAN connections like this:

This is where we "share" the internet connection in windows. "Right Click" on Local area connection, click "properties," then click "Advanced" at the top. You'll see an option for "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's connection." Check the option. see image below. Also during this step, you can plug the ethernet cable from your console to your computer, and attempt to log into xbox live. If successful, you'll know you are sharing your internet connection appropriately before you actually attempt to load the tunables.JSON files.

While we are in our Network Options, go ahead and disable windows firewall. Turn it completely off. also disable any other anti-virus applications you have in either windows or OSX. I took it a step further and under start/control panel/network and internet connections/windows firewall, you'll see an exceptions tab which I added apache and Mysql to the list. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but I did it just to be positive that the firewall would not interfere with the web server.

If you do not know your IP or IPv4 address, now is the time to find out. Click Start, then Run and type "Cmd" in the box that appears. The command prompt will launch; now you will type "ipconfig" into the command prompt and you will see your ip/IPv4 address listed below the command you typed. (if you need a picture of this, either goole search it, or tell me and I'll edit it in.)

Now time to edit the host file. Click Start/MyComputer/Windows/System32/Drivers/Etc and look for the "Host" File (NOT Host.ics!!). Right click and Open the host file with a text editing program (I used Sublime text 2 as it does not modify the file extension when the file is saved). at the bottom of the host file, in a new text line, type your IP/IPv4 address that you just learned followed by prod.cloud.rockstargames.com (example: 192.168.2.14 prod.cloud.rockstargames.com). Save the file when you are finished.

5. Setting up Apache:

You'll need to port forward your router, using port 80 as this is what apache uses. all routers are slightly different so google your particular router if you are unsure how to port forward. just make sure the IP address you use when port forwarding to port 80 is the same IP address you saw when you typed ipconfig in the command prompt earlier.

Open apache under an administrator profile, and click the settings button. set your values as I have in this picture: close apache webserver when finished.

If you have forwarded your ports correctly, you will see a green check beside apache and mysql as depicted in above photo. if apache doesn't start/ turns green check to a red "!" mark randomly, I recommend downloading Microsoft visual redistribution C++ 2010 and the issue will be fixed.

6. Editing tunable.JSON File:

Open the webserver folder, then click root/titles/gta5/xbox360 and open the tunables file with notepad or sublime text 2. ctrl+f to search for "XP." I recommend setting the RP multiplier no higher than 1500-2000, and the cash multiplier no higher than 99999. save when finished.

7. Basically, we are ready to go!

Ensure that port 80 is forwarded, plug your console into your computer via ethernet cable if not already done (have the console turned off for this step), and run apache webserver as administrator. If you want to verify that your server is working properly, type prod.cloud.rockstargames.com into your web browser and you should see the webserver page. If you see a 403 forbidden error, something is not right.

Turn on your console. you should sign into xbl normally (although it may take a few more seconds than usual). launch gtav and start an invite only session. kill a pedestrian. If you pick up fat stacks then the mod is working! now drink that six pack of beer.

I take no credit for this tutorial. I only prefaced the Virtual Box portion for mac users who wish be successful with this like myself.

I know nothing about parallels or vagrant, so I can't help you if you have questions regarding those particular applications.

Note, some users have reported being banned for doing this. participate at your own risk. Help yourself, help your friends, but don't go crazy helping strangers as this seems to be the common denominator in most of the ban hammer situations.

If JSON Mod Sticks becomes unremovable:

close apache webserver. disconnect ethernet cable. disable port forwarding. go to windows, open command prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns" then clear the system cache on your console. I had to perform this several times before the mod actually became unstuck.

All the Credits of this Tutorial goes to "pickin6strings" from Se7ensins!
