Woke up with a stiff neck, took some advil, tried applying ice and heat but neither seems to help much. Any suggestions?

take a steamy shower and use the massage setting if your shower head has it.

Take a hot shower and make sure to exercise it e.g. Move it around slowly until it hurts.

You could massage your neck gently, take a hot shower

Take a hot bath or shower then do some neck exercises.

Or if you have the money have a massage.

Get some gel or something you can rub on your neck..
that really works for me when I spend most of the day staring at a laptop screen

You don't exactly need to go to a massaging place, you can do the massages yourself.
