How to get the old Xbox 360 NXE Boot Animation without FakeAnim!

Hello TTG. As some of you in this forum have noticed, I've been trying to get the old Xbox boot animation working, and as of today, I had that happen. How? Well, all thanks to Bad_Flash, I decided to do something I never thought would work. Wanna know what I did? Keep reading!

Well, first off, you need to download [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .
Second, you're going to want to open up Xbox 360 Neighborhood, or use XeX Menu and find your flash.
Third, copy the file to a USB/FTP and replace 'bootanim.xex' with the one you downloaded.
*MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR NAND BEFORE DOING THIS - IF YOU SCREW UP, I AM NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES DONE TO YOUR RGH/JTAG!*
Anyways, proceed to rebooting your console. Once off, let it sit for like 5 seconds. (it's just something I do.)
As your console boots up, the old NXE startup should appear in place of the current Kinect one.

Proof:

I know it's not the best proof, but it works, haha.

This may work with other boot animations, as long as the file name is 'bootanim.xex'. However, I have not tried.
Like I said, make a nand backup. I am not liable to any damage. I will not fix your console.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Nice work but I don't think this is new, people have been replacing the boot animation for a while now

Yes, but they were using something called FakeAnim.

This is by replacing the actual XEX file. rather than installing a lot of things.

is it just the old bootanim.xex that works??? Or did you have to make changes for it to work with kernel 16547?

In other words are there version checks in the xex?

Thanks for giving me credit. Also I wonder what happens if you just delete it. Would it mean a faster boot time ?

Idk, I don't want to screw it up. Haha. You guys, just literally download the file and replace the old bootanim. Nothing else needs to be done.
