Hello, so I've just recently bought Minecraft

Basically, I've tried to install a couple of mods, such as
~ TooManyItems
~ Jetpack
~ SinglePlayerMaps

And basically, I can't, I've installed Forge, ModLoader, followed tutorials, but I think I'm thick as nothing will work.

If anybody is willing too help please comment below or inbox me and we can discuss it further.

Biggest mistake nearly everyone makes:
Did you delete META-INF?

EDIT:
I'm pretty sure modloader can't run along with forge, you should get the forge-modloader

I remembered to delete the META-INF folder, yes.

And I've tried them both at different times, and I cannot get them to work?

I don't get any errors, they just won't load onto my client..

And playing the game legit is fun, however playing with a few mods in Singleplayer doesn't hurt either chum.

Many Minecraft mods have not been released to 1.7.4/ 1.7.2. because the Modding Api has not been released i recommend you downgrade your Minecraft to 1.6.4 and then instal the mods

Try this:
Go to "appdata" and delete ".minecraft"
After that, run your minecraft loader and startup the version you want.
Go back to "appdata"
Open up .minecraft and install forge, and forge only.
Run minecraft.
Install Forge-Modloader and run minecraft again.
After that install the mods you like.

This should usually work.
