A lot of you guys don't understand why he deserves it because you must not watch enough college football. Last year FSU had pretty much the same line up but with EJ Manuel, a first round draft pick, as their starting qb. For his senior season that should have been the Seminoles year for success. EJ lost two games last year as the starting QB to NC State and Florida. Nobody is giving Jameis the credit he deserves. He took this same exact team and went UNDEFEATED as a freshman. As a freshman...Throughout the year he was constantly making big plays with his arms and a few with his legs. He always put the team first and only had to play 3 or 4 Fourth quarters because they were up by so much. Something EJ manuel could never have done as their starter.
And to all of you saying he doesn't deserve it because of how he played last night, you couldn't be more wrong. He went 20/35 passing which is about 57% completion rating. Yes that's off par for him but that's about average for any other quarterback. He also didn't throw a pick last night but guess who did. Nick Marshall. The recievers dropped numerous passes that were very[i] catchable. You can't blame Jameis for how the 1st half went. Now, look at how the 4th quarter turned out. FSU had 21 4th quarter points, yes one of a kick return, but they still rallied back for the victory because Jameis was calm and poised the entire time no matter what happened. With a little over a minute left in the game this [i]freshman quarterback drives the team down the field going 6/7 and throws a TD pass with 13 seconds left to go. Because of him their victory was possible.
Congrats to Florida State and Especially Jameis winston. The most deserving of the Heisman award since cam newton.
(Sorry for such a long response. As a nole fan I just got carried away.)
