I have not played my One in about a month and what ever game I put in it still says insert disc pleas help.

Is your Xbox laying vertically? That could be the issue. My friend had his laying vertically and it wouldn't read discs but did when he had it horizontally.

Laser might be broken or there is an over-load of dust... Trying cleaning some of the dust out and then waiting for a few hours. It should work eventually.

Try calling microsoft support. If it's within the warranty period, they'll probably replace it for a brand new one. They'll try to help you out so be ready to explain the problem and have the xbox next to you so you can do whatever they tell you to. Don't try to open it or do something that you're unsure of and/or have never done before!

This happened to me for a little bit but then it started working, does it make grinding noises when you put the disc in?

No it does not make a grinding sound.
You're in luck then, if it makes that noise it needs to be serviced. Just do what that other guy said and clean the dust out and wait.
