Nice to meet you all, I'm a keen Xbox 360 player and like the odd iPad game to,

Sorry to act like a noob but I want to upload an avatar doesn't have to be anything special I just want a random pic, can anyone advise me how I do this on an iPad?

Go onto your profile and clic edit profile then look at the tabs until you find something to do with profile pictures, then change it. Sorry if I didn't help you but hope you find your way into this great community, p.s we were all noobs one day ;)
