What cooler do you have?
From what I have found out, it can be perfectly stable at over 5GHz, but obviously with the right cooler

Terrabytez wrote What cooler do you have?Currently I just have the stock CPU fan. So if I was to overclock I would defiantly get a different cooler. So if you think that is what I should do, then do you have any good ones in mind?

depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you have enough, then go for new parts. If not then go for a;
Low Budget: 212 Evo *
Med Budget: H80i
High Budget: H100i
Higher: New mobo/CPU XD
* I have a 212 evo with my 4GHz OC'd 6300. I run idle at 7C and under load about 30C

This is better than my computer lol, you shouldnt need to overclock or upgrade. I run an i7 870 2.93 quad core, and a nvidia gtx 550 ti 2gb and that is more than enough power for any game i have ever played and both your processor and video card are better than mine.
-How much ram are you running? maybe a simple ram upgrade can up your performance? i run 16gb

RAM is good, but it depends on the rest of the specs. Sometimes it is better to upgrade the whole PC than individual parts. The GPU is great (I have one) but the CPU could bottleneck it.

... You're joking... right?
Your i7 is far superior to his CPU. Yes his GPU is better and more up-to-date, but your CPU is great, a lot better than his. I don't think it really can be compared.
He should upgrade his CPU soon, and I don't really think a RAM upgrade will change much performance.

so mine is better? i figured his would be better due to higher ghz and it is newer
