Hey guys Heli(aka Diversify) here and I thought I would make a thread answering questions that I see daily in this forum.

Most of these questions are asked frequently So I decided to save everyone's time and make a thread on it. If you do not agree with any part of this thread please inform me and I will fix it to the best of my abilities.

1. Is it possible to jailbreak on any firmware newer than 3.55?
-At the moment it is impossible. The firmwares after 3.55 were built to prevent PS3's from being successfully jailbroken or tampered with through USB or any other form. I am sure in the near future there will be a jailbreak when sony finally sends their attention to the ps4. Do not download a jailbreak unless it is 3.55 or lower because you may brick your ps3 if you try to JB it when it is higher than 3.55.

2. How do I jailbreak my ps3?
-Jail breaking your ps3 is pretty simple once you are on the OFW 3.55. If you are currently on 3.55 or lower you can check out this thread
(Island-Times Jailbreak Thread) to help you continue with jail breaking. If you are on a firmware above 3.55 you can downgrade your system with an e3 flasher. E3 Flasher is Ultimate PS3 Downgrade Device that will allow you to downgrade a NOR PS3 from Any current firmware to 3.55! You have to make sure the PS3 originally came with 3.55
firmware or lower from factory.

3. What is a jailbreak?
-A jailbreak is a customized firmware that is installed on the PS3 via system update, and is authorized by the system by resigning the firmware with custom packages such as "Install Package Files" and FTP managers.

4. What is the best custom firmware?
-Choosing a custom firmware may be confusing at first. Rogero and Habib are firmwares that mainly support CEX( which are PS3's that are retail ps3's) so this also means you have less access to modifying the console. PS3ita and Rebug are DEX(developer consoles) firmwares although REBUG does support CEX. DEX allows you to have wider range of options to modify you PS3. CEX and DEX both support Real Time Game Memory Modding which is the new trend for many "COD Modders".

5. What is Real Time Game Memory Modding/Editing?
- Real Time Modding is the new way to mod the newer Call of Duty's and other big titles that allow game memory editing. This is pretty much altering the game save/memory to change your name, ranks, etc. Real Time Editing is a process which is very easy to set up and either DEX or CEX can support it. ( To my understanding is possible on xbox as well)

6. How do I transfer a torrent on my jail broken ps3?
- Using a torrent on you ps3 is slightly complicated. Depending on what CFW you are running there are different methods on YouTube that explain how to get it running. To transfer the Game Torrent on your on your ps3 you will most likely need to be using an FTP Server. FTP Server allows you to send files over the internet onto you ps3. Many people use Filezilla but there are other FTP programs out there. Make sure you have a disc in your ps3 so that the BD Drive can emulate it and use the disc to run the torrent.

7. How do I fix black screen on Game Start up when I RTM?
- Black screen occurs often when the file is corrupted which is a possibility if you are using a Game Torrent. If you Real Time Mod and you get black screens its probably because the EBOOT is not the right one. Make sure you have the EBOOT that matches the most recent Title Update. If you use multiman there are options that allow you to Modify the game settings.

8. How do consoles get banned and is it easy to get unbanned?
- Consoles get banned from of course modding games and being reported multiple times and also running homebrew online which many people do. If you sign into PSN and you are running homebrew PSN can trace it. They will ban your console ID and you will recieve a message like this when you attempt to sign in. "Access to Sony Network Entertainment for this system has been banned or temporarily suspended". This means that your console ID is banned but no worries it is easy to get a new console ID and unban it. There are many people who sell console ID's(I am not liable if you get scammed) and there are websites that release public ID's 4 times a day or more for their members to use until PSN bans that ID. Many CFW's have different methods of switching the console ID but the best way to unban and ID is using the CFW PS3ita which is a DEX firmware.

9. What does it mean if Recovery Menu is opened on PS3 start up?
-The PS3 launches the Recovery Menu if the PS3 feels as If files are corrupted or being tampered with. This also means that your PS3 is Semi-Bricked. I currently do not have a solution to this problem but when I do it will be posted here.

10. Can I host recoveries offline?
-To host recoveries is impossible offline unless you are modding your offline stats. In order to do a Recovery for online purposes it always needs to be online and connected to PSN. You need to be able to access leader boards and other multiplayer information to modify it for online use.

11. Why does my PS3's fan turn on all the time?
-The PS3 fan turns on when the system gets overheated and needs to cool down. If you own a PHAT PS3 the fan tends to turn on faster because the system heats up faster. The Slim PS3 is better at handling the PS3's temperature so the overheating is less of a worry. In order to prevent you Phat or Slim PS3 from overheating it is smart to replace the thermal paste. If you are capable of doing so you can add your own type of cooling mod.

12. Where is the best place to purchase a jailbroken PS3?
- There are many places on the internet that sell and are trusted. Many people suggest Ebay which I do not agree with because Ebay may be untrustworthy. Try to find a trusted seller on TTG or look on craigslist. Many people also offer downgrade services that downgrade your current PS3 to 3.55. If you have a Super Slim it is impossible to downgrade. In the end try to buy from a trusted seller.

17. Can I host on newer COD's without getting banned?
-Yes and No. When hosting online you can get account or console banned. Sadly if you are account banned you cannot unban it but if you are console banned you can unban it!

18. Why does my ps3 freeze when I use anti-ban on Ghosts?
- Your ps3 freezes when your are being actively banned. The server freezes to prevent your form being banned.

19. Best Firmware?

-The best firmware to be on is PS3ita considering you have to most control over your ps3.
