same problem here. it says i can't connect to xbox live even though i can use the site. i'm sure it'll get fixed.

try restarting your console. if nothing, just contact microsoft.

Check microsoft's website to see if everything is running accordingly. Sometimes there's maintenance going on and some features aren't available. If that doesn't work, try talking to an xbox volunteer on the xbox forums. If they can't help you, they refer you to an actual staff member that'll more than likely solve your problem one way or another.

there's a thread on the xbone forums with almost 6 pages of people having the same issue.

Don't worry , it's not just you. I'm having the same issue, and prowling twitter and the Xbox forums seems to lead me to think this is a global issue(people reported the error from Australia, Germany, USA). Not sure what's up or when it'll be fixed though.

I think the error people are getting is:

We couldn't sign you in. Try again in a few minutes, or check your account by signing in to account.live.com. Sign In: 0x80048883

As of writing this, there is no service alert out. So it's probably just happening as we speak, I'm sure the wizards at Xbox are scrambling to find out what's wrong. As far as I know, it's only on Xbox One, but do not quote me on that as it's the only console I've tried so far. Restarting the Internet /Console hasn't worked for me, but maybe it will for you.

EDIT: The support page has been updated, looks like it's limited to the Xbox One
