Homework really is essential. Doing it really sticks what you've learned into long term memory so you'll really remember it.

I mean like most of my teachers do..The hw isn't mandatory..

I think its good to assign it but not necessarily to count it for a grade. Think about it. If you are really good at the topic and have mastered it why have to do the homework.

I'm for and against it.

For it because it helps you actually learn the information from the lesson and by doing the homework you're practicing it.

Against it because it doesn't work in all types of classes however.
and too much homework is just wrong. You go to school for 6+ hours a day and then come home to having to do another 4+ hours of homework leaving you no time to interact with friends or just relax.

We should have homework, but it should be cut down. Some teacher give way too much.
