So say I didn't have internet period. If I buy a wireless router like the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 I only have to pay the one fee of $200 to have Wi-Fi or do I also have to pay monthly to receive the Wi-Fi

Thats just a router, you still would need some type of internet provider.

I personally use FiOS.
Verizon FiOS
TWC
Comcast

there are a ton out there,it depends on your location, some parts of the country have horrible connection. But i'd recommend FiOS, up to you.
