I would like to hear what everyone thinks about the new information that has come out about a cheaper xbox one that may not include an optical disc drive. Rumors also have included a new Xbox One with 1TB memory to keep up with the digital onslaught.
If you haven't seen it read it here on TTG
News/sid=6099/xbox-one-plans-repo...bound.html

or find it also on IGN.
I personally believe that this will be beneficial towards Microsoft and the sales of Xbox One, knocking the $100 off could do a lot for people. Also the terabit storage will be essential if there is no disc drive, especially for all those game collectors out there.
Feel free to leave your feedback and discuss what you think about this alleged news.

This was already in the news section of TTG but I think I'd want an xbox one without kinect.

Thats why I linked it to the article on TTG
But the optical disc drive is the disc reader not the kinect.
The way I see them is going completely digital and getting rid of discs in general, so no one has to leave the couch anymore.

I'd rather have an optical drive. I hate waiting for games to download. It would still be a good move on Microsofts part though.

I would still want the drive, just no kinect. Sell it seperately for the same price as PS4.

Interesting news, I never liked the white 360, I always felt the black looked dramatically better, I'll stick with my black xbox one. I upgraded my harddrive on my day one edition to a 1 terabyte, I have 11 games (all disc), plus dlc, it filled up quick. I'm just hoping they can't detect a different larger harddrive.
I also think the discless console is absurd. Mostly cause majority of users don't have adequate internet, basic high speed internet still takes days to download a game. Let alone data caps some users have. Plus if you get banned, you'd have to rebuy any games, seems dangerous to me. And yes I do know if you get banned you can still keep your games, but if you want to play online, you'd have to rebuy. There would be no gamesharing with yourself if you got banned.
Although some users have great ISPs and don't mind downloading games from the marketplace, it's not an option where I live, and my ISP is just barebones. Also if you wanted to do any modding, I'd assume you'd be buying disc's too. I like the blu player, and the ability to play a disc, not having that would suck, even though I do play everything off my computers harddrive.

I bet that's where the problem lies.
But it's all coming down to needing a good ISP and paying for good service.
Sadly, It's the new age.
