Xenons can't use HDMI.

They only use Av cables.

@OP: I think the answer is that you bricked it somehow.

You might need to get it reflashed.

Hit the eject button and if it opens something called "Xell Reloaded", then it isn't bricked.

Actually the Zephyr was.
@OP I would suggest getting new cables, if that doesn't work then the console may need a reflow or reball. Just before consoles get red ring they may get audio/video issues, and it's like a pre warning of a system failure.
