Thanks for the reply. I've checked out the site and it looks pretty neat.
I just have a few questions.
Why do you have to enter your PayPal for a free server? I just wanted to test the server but I don't have PayPal at the moment.
Also, what does the free one mean by "(24 hours)"?
Does it mean you have the server for 24 hours, then it deletes the world and stuff?
I don't understand that part.
And what's the difference between "Minecraft Hosting" and "Dedicated Servers"?
Why is the "Dedicated Servers" one so much more expensive than the "Minecraft Hosting" one?

why dont you create your own one for free mate ? i recently made one and it can have as many people as you like, as long as you have the server runnig then it wll be up for as long as you want.

We ask for your PayPal details as this is the only way our billing system, WHMCS, will allow us to process any services to any account. This will NOT take any money from you, nor will it share your details with us. This information will be encrypted and safely.

The 24 hour server allows you to test the server for the 24 hour period. No files will be saved after that 24 hour period. This is just a trial.

In terms of "better", you won't find much higher quality. There's a reason why Sean used BukkitHost for TTG's Minecraft server, and it's not because I gave him any kind of special treatment or pricing. In the 1.5 years Sean hosted the server with me, I don't think he complained about the server a single time, and even now has nothing but positive things to say about BukkitHost.

Any host that offers $3/GB server is unsustainable, short and simple. The quality of server that would be required to offer pricing that low would either be comparable to home computers, or the servers would be heavily overloaded.

I'm not trying to bash on GGS. I've never heard of them, so I have no idea how high/low quality their servers are. I am simply speaking from years of experience with Minecraft hosting.

Back to my point, yes, there are many hosts that are cheaper than BukkitHost. But if you're looking for a high quality server that will see no downtime, you're not going to get that from a host that offers $3/GB. This is true for any kind of server, not just Minecraft. Cheaper is not always better.

I don't mean to attack you, so don't take this personally this is merely an observation.

Your Facebook is stacked with customers complaining about downtime and other issues. Your twitter isn't much better. There are numerous complaints about waiting days for ticket response and small issues that should take minutes to fix. This shouldn't happen.

I understand that DDoSes are largely unpreventable, but a null route is an easy fix with Multicraft if you know how to configure it correctly (and with 4000 customers, you definitely should). It shouldn't be an excuse for downtime.

GGS isn't the only company I've seen with these issues. They're common among budget hosts, which is exactly the point I'm trying to make. If you want a cheap server, where uptime and customer service are not important to you, by all means, budget hosts are the way to go. But if you're looking for a serious server with very little downtime and fast customer service, you're going to end up paying more.

It depends on what you want out of your server.
