No, i think 5 tallys is for how many days in a row you've played the game. It stops at 5 but after that if you don't play for a day it will go down to 4 marks. Ranks have nothing to do with tallys, it all depends on your stats more than anything.

Stats have absolutely no impact on your rank.

Supposedly you have to have a KD of above 200 to be eligible to have a chance at getting shotguns.

This is falsified information . KD also has nothing to do with rank. A friend on my list has a KD of 25 and has the knife. It's only about average rounds to total downs.
