Since (no harm meant) SonicZ got awesome for drawing a pop tart in paint people have been try harding it for awesome and have been succeeding for example;
That guy that wrote staff names in C4 got it.
That guy that carved TTG into a pumpkin and got it.

Examples who didn't get it;
Some guy that made staff names out of lego
some guy wrote TTG in the snow and was trying to get awesome for it, he even posted on sean's wall pretty much asking for awesome

People will get awesome if they deserve it. people stop try harding for awesome.

Its not a big thing any more in my opinion if you get awesome , just means your a tryhard :/

"tryhards" for the awesome badge who post topics that are helpful in the hope of getting stickies etc - ihave no problem with (although they are only helping out for a badge which is wrong). But i agree with you when it comes to people making staff names etc out of whatever thing. Yes it might have beeen cool to look at the first few times members did it but its old now..

but sean and the staff gives the badge to whoever they want and whatever reason they feel necessary, if they think someone deserves the badge, so be it i trust their judgement thats why they run this site.

True , but it is up to them who they give it to

I Think that it should be given to people that help out The most in different secctions on the site
