I know this isn't the correct forum for this question but there are many more people in here than the "other" forum and I figured someone would know. So my mom has a 160 GB FAT32 External Hard Drive but it runs at 7200 RPM, I am wondering if this will be too much for the system. I know that about 5400 is what you should have for an internal but I'm wondering if a faster one would work externally. My mom needs to buy a new hard drive for work because the 160 GB is filling up so she is gonna back the stuff on there up and I can completely clear the drive. Any help would be great! Sorry if it seems like I'm babbling.

Using it externally would require a cfw to be installed for backups, but you can remove the sata hdd from the casing and use it internally for any ps3, i've been using a 7200 for about 3 years now

Please explain the part about the cfw and backup. Never tried this before as I am used to buy discs so I never had memory issues til now.
