Would it be worth it for me just to get a JTAG xbox to mod my own call of duties and stuff, not anyone elses? And also how much would it cost?

I'm not a JTAGGER but that doesn't seem like a good idea. It seems like it would be a lot cheaper to just find someone who can host for you instead of spending the money on 'taging you xbox and risk getting console banned.

yeah thats what i was thinking but there is a risk of scam with doing that, guess i could just find a trusted seller or something like that

Can't get console banned unless you brag about owning one, or bringing it online. (aka giving yourself infections everyday on Mw2 and CoD4 to mess around is a PERFECT & possibly the only way to get Account Banned / Console Banned.)

EDIT: If you ever want to purchase my Falcon RGH pre-loaded with almost every COD and the game "Thief" along with the power-brick, HDMI, and 250GB HD, let me know, I will put it in the Xbox Marketplace on here just for you.
