For me 55,000 GBP a year is reasonable but personally it depends on the job type, I wouldn't want a job which involved sitting behind a desk all year, I want an adventurous job.

Well at my current age yes it is alot and its a good starting salary, but it should increase as long as you're not stuck at 50k for life i'd say thats pretty good!

As a kid? Yes, that is a lot.
As an adult? It's feasible for a very modest lifestyle.

$50k is roughly what, 29k GBP?
So in my opinion, that's a fair enough, big enough salary! Average salary is about 24k-28k, so it's not bad. It's not fantastic, but it is liveable.

For me, 55k would be enough for me to live happily.

It can vary by the person and how they grew up and how they lived as a kid IMO, if someones parents were very wealthy it may be a bit harder for them to adapt to that much a year as they grew up with there parents being wealthy

Depends, if you are living single its a good amount. If you have people to support its not going to suffice the needs. Also at time goes by that salary is going to lose Value unless you get a pay increase.

People need to realize that the average salary in the United States is under 50k a year. 50k a year is a substantial amount of money that you could live off even with a family.

It definitely livable for sure. As I come from a family that makes quite a bit more than that, not so much. But I think thats probably about average in the US.

I'd say that you are able to live off it but I would not call that a lot.

I agree completely. As a kid, 55k a year seems like a ton of money. You need to take into consideration all the expenses of life, like paying car loans, mortgage, all your groceries, bills, taxes, insurance.

There are an insane amount of things to pay for, and it also depends on where you live, as these prices will be higher or lower.
