So I just built my first PC. And I'm still waiting for the hard drive to come in, so my PC powers on and I see fans running on everything GPU CPU PSU etc, so I ran a hdmi cable from my GPU to my monitor and when I power on my PC I see nothing on my monitor why is this shouldn't I see post or something I also don't have a motherboard speaker. S I've tried moving my ram running one stick at a time moving my gpu from the top slot to the second etc, also my monitor is a sharp model lc-19sb25u and it only has hdmi no dvi so I can't try dvi and there's no other monitor in my house. Any help what so ever is appreciated. Thanks for reading

My specs

-CPU AMD FX8320
-STOCK COOLER
-MOTHERBOARD BIOSTAR TA970
-RAM TEAM ELITE 1333 8GB 2/4GB
-GPU GTX 660 2GB
-PSU CORSAIR CX500

Is there no vga port?

You could try that. Are you sure that your monitor is on the right Chanel?

Does your monitor have a vga port?

You could get a dvi to vga adapter and then try to use a vga cable.

I know this is a stupid question but, are you sure you have all of the power cables plugged into the motherboard? Could you get a picture?

Make sure your graphics card's fans are spinning. Try clearing your CMOS to see if you can get it to POST.

Your motherboard manual will have instructions for clearing the CMOS. It should involve unplugging the power supply, moving a jumper to the 2nd and 3rd of a set of 3 pins, leaving it for a matter of 20 or so seconds, moving the jumper back, plugging the PSU in, and rebooting.

Clearing the CMOS clears system configuration info from the BIOS and can often solve black screen issues.
