I Hotswap and i broke my disk drive i ordered a new one. I heard that you have to do some stuff to the disk drive before you plug it in and use it. Is that true or can you get it right out of the box and use it straight away?

A good tutorial would be great!

This is what i bought. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

You have to take the DVD key off of the old one and put it on the new one. Then it should work, but the problem is you broke your old DVD drive, so good luck with that...

If your replacement drive is the same model as the original drive, then you can simply swap the PCB from one to the other.
