Do I have to unlock my PCU with spunkit probe first in order to flash it. Instead of having to buy an unlocked one which is about $60.

What firmware does your drive have currently?

unless its super old with the 9504 firmware you'll have to unlock it.

There are two different chips on the 16d4s one is the 03 other is 05. You can Kamikaze an MXIC SPI, but the Sputnik360 probe method is both easier and safer. The Winbond SPI requires the Kamikaze hack to unlock it.

As 5kmods said 2 different type 03 mxic or 05 winbond

If u wish to buy a unlock pcb I have couple for sale $30 ship of course if ur in US

I'm haven't open my dvd drive but I'll take a look and let you know thanks for the help btw .
