I am going to have a little rant about some of the topics on this very forum.

First off, I would like to clarify that I DO like this section; I think this section is very comical indeed, most of the rants I entertain are the stupid ones or the ones I completely disagree with, I like to debate I suppose like many of you do.

But it's getting pretty repetitive, a large percentage of the rants these days are either

1. Just plain stupid
2. A misleading rant backed up with false information
3. A one-liner with little to no meaningful argument offered

Here are some examples (There are tons of examples, I'll just be using one for each though)

1. A commonly seen stupid rant would be - EXAMPLE: Kids playing online and or squeakers.

This is clearly something that will never go away, and if common sense prevails the only suitable fix would be the "mute" feature and problem solved. The reason I say this is stupid, is because the majority of the people who rant about this are hypocrites, they where a kid once, they once had a squeaky voice. Now all of a sudden they hit puberty and think "Hey, these kids are annoying me; I'll go on TTG and tell everyone how much I hate them" Silly hypocritical rant, end of.

2. A misleading rant would be - EXAMPLE: One silly opinion - This thread: Forums/t=6300426/my-entire-nation.html

I understand it would be unfair to use this as an example if the topic where still open; but it's not, thankfully an administrator closed it. Basically the OP made a rant based on one silly opinion I believe to be completely irrelevant to the majority of people concerned. It was based on the Scottish Independence debate, and the majority of Scottish people who posted vehemently disagreed with the OP's reasoning for the rant. This basically created a shit storm and turned into an all out flame-war between mostly Scottish and English people which could be considered racist against both parties. The rant was based on an old over-the-top mid-evil film which created tension between Scottish and English people for no good reason, we are neighbors and allies, but it just made immature Scottish and immature English people go back to the mid-evil era and start hating on each other which resulted in the topic being closed. (thank god, the OP made my country look so stupid if people actually believed what he was saying, the independence debate had absolutely nothing to do with the crap he was coming out with. - just to clarify that)

3. one-liners, or short meaningless rants. EXAMPLE: Forums/t=6313903/my-rant-about-rep.html

Again, in the interest of fairness I have found a thread that is no longer open. This one is pretty straight forward and doesn't need any explaining to those who have a mere ounce of common sense, just a waste of space really.


Solution

I would like to see more rants like this one, I'd like to think *most* (maybe not all) of my previous rants are explained to the best of my ability and as non-biased as I can make it. Semi-Rare to see such rants these days, just saying. :p
