I'm trying to shift restore my iPhone 5 from 6.1.4 to 7.0.4 but every time I do, I get a 3194 error code, I've looked on tutorials and they haven't helped so can you guys help?

This error is easy to bypass, error 3194 can be bypassed by a program called TinyUmbrealla. Download it, start TSS Server and then shift Restore it, and if you get error 2005 then I cant help you lol

Have you tried updating directly from your iPhone in Settings?

Why not?
If you are trying to jailbreak your phone, then update it and wait until there is a jailbreak for 7.1.

I have no proof, There probably will not be.

I guessed there will be.

You might as well update it through your phone if you are trying to jailbreak on your current OS.
