If I was you I would get the 360 phat and flash to play backups man! Just my opinion!

P4ulowns wrote so I'm looking into buying a 360 phat to flash so i can play games from backups or get a wii and spend about the same amount and play wii and gamecube games that i will softmod. i know this might be a mixed topic, I'm just looking for some opinions, I'm going to mod both to play backup games.

With a flashed phat you'll have the ability to play your copied/burned games - but do you already have everything needed to actually burn them? With 360 games it's not quite a simple as slapping a blank in a burner. You need DVD +R DL's which can be relatively expensive compared to other blank media, and you need a drive that is either flashed with BurnerMax firmware or one that's compatible with the BurnerMax functionality in IMGburn so that you burn full disc images and are not trying to use truncated disc.

With a Wii mod you'll have the ability to play pretty much everything directly from an external USB hard drive without the need for disc at all, so thats cool, but then you'd also be playing a Wii...

I would go for the xk3y or wait until TX release there XODE then you can just play games via hdd and it is live safe

hmm i just might do that instead thanks cuz i also looked at the costs and everyting, cuz i was also going to play gamecube games on the wii as well not just wii games.but the xk3y does sound cool.
