Hey guys I am a newbie at soldering and I don't think anyone on the general discussion board would help me and the customization board is dead so this forum is next(: I got a bunch of practice on practice boards and wires and seem to have it down but I was wondering how hard is it to change LEDs on a xbox 360 controller as a starting to soldering because I want to work up to a rgh but controllers seem to be a cheaper and safer way to start out and do you have any tips for a newbie like me(: thanks for the feedback and if anyone has any spare LEDs that will fit the controller ones I would be more than willing to take them off your hands no matter what color((: thanks

The leds are very small, but if you have some tweezers and a steady hand its not to hard at all

You don't even need a steady hand. I have quite shaky hands and can still solder LEDs on to an RF board. Tweezers and/or a magnifying glass would be helpful. The LEDs you need are 0603 SMD LEDs, they can be purchased from eBay for about $1 for 10 or so.

It's fairly easy, my controller LEDs were the first thing I ever soldered
