You should get a Citroen c2. It has 122 HP and it looks
really really nice.

Happy 17th!

I've highlighted two things: 'go fast' and 'insurance doesnt matter'.

I hope that when you start getting lessons you'll realize how silly your post sounds. Please bookmark it so you can look at it when you pass your test. I started learning to drive at 17 too, and i'm almost 18. I had the same idea as you had now - looking at RX8s and other sports cars.

Sorry, but the sad truth is that you don't a car that will 'go fast' for your first car. You wont get insured at any price. Insurance companies will TURN YOU AWAY. It's also irresponsible and dangerous to have the drive 'fast' attitude - you drive at the appropriate speed. This stereotypical attitude why us 17 year old boys pay ridiculous insurance prices.

Just get something that's cheap to insure, so you can afford to insure it for many years, not just the first year. This is a more sensible approach that you wont regret. Think long term - how are you going to afford to pay 5k a year on a sports car when you leave home and get your first job?

Some good reliable first cars that are cheap to run and insure are the Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta.

Good luck learning to drive.

Yeah the " fast and furious " attitude def doesn't make you look/sound cool. Having a fast car and being young is a dangerous combo. Take it for what it's worth but, driving around real fast to impress ppl are not looked upon with respect by others especially when your young and it's your first car.

Even on Daddy's insurance it will still be pretty high. Also spending 7 thousand on your first car? That's just dumb as chances are if you're going to be one of these total tools like your post suggests its going to be wrapped around a lamppost within a month.

MK4 golfs are rather popular right now as they're insurance prices are reasonable and pretty cheap to pick up. Other than that typical first cars are fiesta, Clio, corsa, Saxo, punto ect.

Also as far as mods goes, anything performance wise jacks prices straight up by a couple thousand.

I would highly advise you to go for something that isn't to powerful, hopefully your a safe driver in the first place. Something like a Volkswagen Golf or something, since you are new to driving you don't want to have an accident in a relatively expensive car and end up it getting written off or even much worse injuring your or others who could get involved. The option is yours if your a good driver an experienced then go for it, no one can stop you just choose wisely
