Yes, just look up 2001 honda civic lx vtec swap up on Google and look through some of the forums you find. You'll need to do more than just a direct bolt in of the engine though. You can swap any engine if you know enough, I've seen a Prius with an LS1 engine in it. (A Honda forum would be a better place to ask than here)

are you going to do a just head swap or a complete engine swap? got any engines in mind? if you want to do a complete swap i think you need an ex exhaust system to do a complete swap.

Of course you can, but is it worth it?
Even with a D17A2, you're only going to be hitting 127hp, which is only marginally more than the 115 being put down by your (I'm assuming) D17A1. VTEC isn't a turbo, you're not going to double your power.

Turbo is the way though i have a ls/v (ls bottom end with b16a head) with srp pistons, scat rods, acl bearings, edelbrock intake,1000cc precision injectors, little ol 60trim t3/t4 etc that laid down 603hp on e85 and 113degree day on 14lbs..and is daily driven and still gets 20-22mpg
