I recently watched a documentary about this, explaining all of the odd occurences, (well at least he reasons behind them)
Basicaly you have the pacific Gulf Stream which essentially loops around the Bermuda Triangle a bit like a circle within a triangle, this has extreme current and can pull ships suffering from mechanical or navigational failure off course and cause them to be destroyed by reefs and unforgiving oceans,
Next you have the trench off the coast of Miami, stretching hundreds of miles
And is recorded at around 5miles in depth, ships sink here and are pulled here via the currents.
My personal and most favorite hypothesis is that there exist an underground layer of highly magnetic rock (like iron) and the heat of the earths core melts it, sending compasses to fail I believe failed attempts at blind navigation and diverse weather systems cause many of the triangles disappearances
