I could see rendering utilizing more RAM, as well as, multimedia work too. That does make sense. It's interesting to see that 8GBs+ is rarely used.

Main use is for high end programs and render times.

I've got a 6gb ram and barely ever use all of it, considering I never game. (On PC anyway)
