The build I suggested can easily run on a good 450w unit.

in all fairness man you might aswell buy the build i cooked up..as its got a 1000w psu so you dont need to worry about that stuff..its an all round epic comp

You suggested a 1000w PSU? That makes me think you don't know what you're doing. Can you post the rest of what you suggested?

This topic for me is all about gathering ideas, and so far I've been learning a lot from everyone's builds so thanks everyone who's been responding

root ive been doing computers for ages now i know exactly what im doing..he wanted the biggest bang for buck so i threw a monster computer at him.. you suggested him a 550w psu...you didnt read the post correctly.. i suggested him a 1000w if he ever wants to expand onto it eg sli or adding more things towards the computer....not rocket science.

Yeah I'm basically trying to get the best performance for the money I'm spending.

I'm going to add more information to the post under "EDIT" right now.

You could use a 1500w PSU with the 770 and it will perform the same as it would with a 450w unit. I don't think he wants to do tri-SLI with 770s so 1000w is absurd overkill. 750w will do if he plans to SLI and 550w is more than enough if he want to use any single-GPU card. It's in his best interest for you to post what you suggested.

i rest my case..............see? a 1000w psu can take anything he puts into his computer...plus he wont need to worry about the power wattage being too low because of a accident of not getting a better psu in the first place.. this is for now..not get a decent computer then do it later..so ive gave him an all rounder. which funny enough is dead on 1k.

im not talking about strictly SLI im talking about when the time comes and he may want to change his mind and get a dual sli 780 ti for example hell have it there so he doesnt need to worry about the PSU...the PSU is needed if the user changes their mind about their build and wishes to get higher wattage required parts..im putting it into a perspective of getting an amazing computer now so he doesnt have to ever worry about it and itll last him for ages.

lool you too going on 550w would do for now nothing wrong with 1000w as long as you don't get a psu that make alot of noise when the the extra watts are not in use


750W Which I suggested and he wont have to really worry about upgrading the PSU Later and most of the watts will be in use wih a 2nd card
