Reward will be an up vote and some rep, not much but eh.

Riddle:

Once upon a time there was a lumberjack, he needed to chop wood within a certain amount of time so that he could please his boss. He chopped 10 pieces of wood in 10 minutes. He does the math and realizes that he can cut 20 pieces of wood in 20 minutes.

What may or may not be wrong with this thinking?

Well it seems fairly obvious that physical fatigue will most certainly play a part in his estimate.

If you have a ratio of 1:1 in this case 1 log per minute then for large minutes this system will have to break down. (He couldn't chop 1 million logs in 1 million minutes as he would be too tired and needs sleep, food and other things in the mean time).

Where he becomes unable to keep up with this 1:1 ratio will depend on numerous conditions, not least would be his physical fitness. Perhaps after 10 logs he becomes tired and can no longer chop 1 per minute.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but it certainly seems logical.

He'd be a very bad lumberjack if this is the case but...

There's not enough trees to get 20 logs out of?
