Where is the US Dollar worth the most? One of my friends went out of the country and I guess he was considered rich in the country he was going to because he exchanged a pretty good amount of money. So if you wanted to, could you buy a bunch of expensive stuff like even an exotic car and then bring it or ship it back to the US? Also, don't they only allow 10K dollars on the airplane?

I'm sure you could go buy a car and ship it back but with import taxes and all the other random taxes the US has it probably wouldn't be worth the trouble

I looked it up and Chile was the best value I could find (1 Usd= 548.85 Chilean pesos). I also don't see why it wouldn't be possible to purchase a vehicle and have it sent to the States via boat, plane, ect (although taxes may ruin the deal)... About the 10k limit, You have to report to the TSA that you will be transporting this money(10k/+) prior to actually doing so.

Definitely not worth your time and effort, unless you pick up a car in Mexico for 1/4th the price and drive it back to the U.S.

Obviously.
How do you think the majority of luxury cars get to the US?

You the the Ferrari's made in Italy just drive across the ocean to get to America?

I think he means getting the car as cheap as possible as apposed to going through an import dealer and paying face value.

You're not going to find a luxury car for super cheap in some random foreign country.

Chances are that it will cost even more than it would in the states.
Simply because of the rarity of it actually being on that random country.

honestly, the taxes are what is going to kill you. yes, it could be cheaper, but also it depends on the car. there are some cars not legally allowed in the US.
