Okay so I currently have a Sony Vaio and its been slowly dying on me, i've had it 4 years now so I'm due new laptop for school etc.
At the minute I'm looking at the 13.3" macbook air and the 13" macbook pro and was just wondering which one you guys would recommend.
Both are 999 the macbook air is 256GB and the macbook pro is 500GB storage capacity isn't a bother and if it was I could always purchase and external HDD. So which should I choose?

They are both great laptops, but the question is will you be using CD's and DVD's as the Macbook Air DOESN'T have an optical drive.

I tend not to use the disc try on my current laptop as i download any music/dvds from the internet, if I was stuck I could always purchase a Super drive if it was needed

If you're going to use it for general web browsing and schoolwork, I'd go with the Macbook Air.

I would go with the Pro, 13.3" is far to small in my opinion.

You do realize that he said 13.3 Macbook Air and a 13' Macbook Pro.

So you just said he should go with an even smaller screen than the 13.3'

The pro is smaller, and the 13.3 air is a reasonable size, i've a 15" vaio and its quite big so i'd say 13.3 would be a good size

I've never had a Macbook air but I am currently using a Macbook pro, so I am obviously going to recommend the macbook pro. Also you're getting 500GB with the macbook pro and they are usually more powerful than macbook airs.

The Macbook air has a 256 GB SSD which takes a steamy dump on the normal 500 gb HDD on the Pro.
