Should be passing my test soon and should be buying a car, I just have literally no clue what to choose.
I live in the UK and have a budget of around 6000 including insurance. Only going to be used for college and ferrying friends around. Would like something with a bit of kick to it, so not like a 1 litre. Anyone have any ideas, or what was your first car? Any help is greatly appreciated

I'm not sure how much insurance would cost. But an RX-8 is a good option. The only had thing is, is the oil consumption. It drink 1 gallon or litre every 1000 miles

I dread to think what insurance would be on an Rx-8, probably upwards of 3.5k, same with a VXR, but I am considering a Corsa, 1.2 SE Corsas look amazing

Ford Focus
Ford Fiesta

Just some ones that came to mind or you could look at even older cars for a few hundered that were good back in the day and just save up through college and get a nicer one when insuranmce is a lot cheaper

I hadn't considered a Punto, good shout. I'd love the A3 just so I could play the song German Whip (it's the simple things eh?), if I could find a well priced one I will really consider it, they seem to be really reliable. Thanks Saxby

There are plenty of reliable cars you can find for that price range, just have to do some research. Mine is a '95 Lexus sc400. Paid $3000 cash for it, have about $500 into it.
