I am just going to say that the escort is going to go for a fair amount of money, they are VERY desirable.
I know someone who has one, spent 12K for it.

Honestly, I love restored cars, but not that one... I guess it's not really my taste, but for as much money you are going to put into it, I wouldn't go with that one.

If you know you can buy the parts for cheap enough and make a profit if you are selling it on (Unless you want to keep it) then I'd say definitely! It'll be fun and worth it ;)

when it comes to restoring cars, most of the time you're gonna loose money in the end anyway

Oh, yes, certainly. A Mk.II Escort is very sought after.
Certainly worth the time, and being yours, you can do whatever you want to it.
I hope you get it, and good luck restoring it.

Pretty much what iCOD4 said , you don't get back what you put into a car. Being a paint and body man myself I'm not too familiar with these cars at all but everything would need to be gone over very meticulously. The interior and engine bay are pretty rusty but without looking at it in person it's in the stage after surface rust. Unless you know what your getting into and have the time, patience , and funding to support a project like this I personally wouldn't buy it. The reward doesn't overcome the risk factor.
