Yesterday I bought the Logitech G930 headset and the audio continuously dropped so I returned them and got myself a pair of G35s instead. Well, I noticed the audio was not as loud and cannot be pushed any further even with all of my volume controls maxed. I'd like a headset where I can push the sound as far as I'd like, like the Turtle Beach X12s.

Does anyone have any advice on a decent headset for a reasonable price? I'm not keen on buying a separate mic and headset, as I console game as well and I like convenience. Should I just buy the Astro A40s and purchase the mix amp at a later date?

Trying not to go over $150, I just keep reading mixed reviews on every headset I look at and figured it was time to ask here. Oh, and does 5.1/7.1 really make a difference in gaming? Thanks guys!
