So as we all know, upon the release of the biggest hit of CoD History; Modern Warfare 2; Machinima created a new channel, which was specific to FPS gameplays, called Machinima Respawn.
Mw2 was getting a lot of attention due to pre-release hype, and awesome trailers.
But even with its self support, it didn't have enough power yet to overtake the FPS industry.
Back then, the mature gaming community populated the CoD games over the children.
But when Machinima Respawn made MW2 its game of choice, sales sky rocketed, and the young side of the age spectrum flourished.
All this now generates the sales that these games detain, and imo, Activision owes Machinima a huge thank you, because without them, Halo or Battlefield could very well be, still on top.

Thanks for reading.

And that ladies and gentlemen is when CoD started to get annoying

I loved CoD before the Youtube Generation.

I actually loved most FPS.

Unreal Tournament was the beast that started me off really
With ground breaking requirements
Operating System Windows 95 or higher
CPU Intel Pentium II 266
Memory 64 MB
Hard Drive Space 605 MB of free space
Network Internet connection required for online multiplayer

4 Years later Call of Duty started, and my life was ruined lol

Halo 3 was the FPS that kicked off my love of shooters.
Today I play everything from CoD 4, to CS:S, and now I'm super psyched about the new Halo Collection they're releasing this fall.

you say young generation but.. Are your even 18, Like I'm 16 and I've been playing FPSers for a long time, Started of with medal of hour.

Used to have friends come over and do split scene on call of duty 3 when i was little, Its not really bad as these games have a small amount of swearing in them. But we hear swear all around us in day to day life.

I am in fact 18, but when I played Halo and such online, I always stayed in XBL Parties with my friends, not disrupting the mature players.
