Basically I'm planning in going to Texas in 1 or 2 years. I'm going there to meet this girl I met and to have a nice little holiday away from the UK. This girl said I should be able to stay in her guest room if her parents let me. Tickets cost about 700-800 GBP with Virgin Atlantic.

I was just wondering how much spending much should I bring with me? I'm only going to be staying for like a 12 days. I was thinking about 1000 or is that a bit to much?

Coming from an american ... your going to want as much money as you can , there is so much stuff to do and buy that you wouldn't have much fun without at least $200. ( Bring a little more for the lady to ;) )

I would probably take as much as you can cause you will probably spend a lot and if you wanted to get a lot of things their it's best to have a good amount of money.

Definitely might have to bring more because I want to go to Disney Land or Six Flags. Might need to ask my parents for more money:') And of course I'll bring more for the lady:)

I am stationed on Fort Hood Texas. There are going to be lots of sights and stuff to do! Depending how old you are, i'd bring 1-1.5k you're going to spend it fast. Trust me! When i first got here. I spent like $300 on ammunition at the range. Bring her to Dallas! She'd love it! Fort Worth is also nice! Very old school area!

As much as you can.

$1000 is $83 a day, which should be okay but plan on food, shopping, etc.

Texas is fun, I live in North Texas(DFW) and there's tons of things to do.
