I've actually heard of people being banned for staying on clash of clans for an extended amount of time. I am not completely sure if this is true, but they do not want you staying on that game to avoid an attack

There isn't anyway anymore. Due to hacks and people not getting attacked Supercell has made a personal break feature that forces you to get off after eight hours.
