Glad to hear you got there in the end and passed.
My story is still on going. I had two driving tests so far and failed them both... both on stupid things.
The first, I had a nearly flawless drive the whole route, 3 minors. In the test center I had to bay park. I parked basically in the middle of the white line and when i tried to correct it, I crumbled.
Second time, I was having a good drive then I had a brain fart, going up a steep hill in second gear and tried switching up. What, a... disaster. I got a total of 3 minors in that test too.
Third time lucky? Haha

Youll deffinately pass eventually mate!, you can obviously drive really well seeing as your failing by 1 stupid thing every time with few minors , dw about it, I thought I was a crap driver and could never pass but I just kept calm on my last test and It went to plan, I got 3 minors (2 for planning/ awareness and 1 for appropriate speed), on my independant drive I totally missed the second right and went off course, I thought I had failed but she didnt even minor me or anything, furthermore I went right on a roundabout and didnt even signal to turn off as my brain just froze, she didnt even minor that lmao. Lastly I accidently changed to first gear instead of 3rd when coming at a large roundabout , at this point I was like yep, deffo fail, harsh use of gears or something but nope, not even a minor in gears, I don't know how, I guess she realized it was an accident and I meant to go into 3rd as I kind of went opps afterwards.

It all depends on the day and also the examiner you get, make a good impression and be friendly, if they can tell you are generally a nice guy then they may be a little bit more keen on certain things, she was really nice my examiner today and half of the annoying roads had roadworks and massive traffic jams, I got a route which I went on with my driving instructor the hour before my test which was lucky aha

Heres a tip, if you don't know the speed limit then look to see if there are road humps, if there are then it will be 20 most likely, I know that sounds like common sense but on your test you forget simple stuff and you look around for speed limits but there arn't any when the road humps are pretty much that.... Its worse to go over the limit than under as you are breaking the law, you are more likely to fail unless you are going like 40 in a 60 zone down the coastroad then you need to go around 53-60 otherwise that will fail you

I failed my first because of something extremely stupid.

I was at a light in a left turn lane. When the light is solid green and not an arrow, you're legally aloud to pull into the intersection and turn when oncoming traffic is clear. If the light turns red while you're in the intersection then you can quickly turn because you were in the intersection legally. He failed me for "running a red light". I called the DMV and they said yes that is legal and he shouldn't have failed me for it. I went back the next day and passed with a 98.

It was pretty dumb.

I don't get how you could be going 7 over... that's insane. Surely you have enough common sense to realize it's at least not over 25.

I honestly don't get how so many people can fail their first time when it's their own faults, not just accidents.

Its very easy to do, infact its speeding and going to slow which catches most people out on tests, when there is a road with one speed limit sign which is easy to miss that you dont see and it is a fairly wide road then you would pressume it is 30, people new to driving cant just follow every speed limit they need experience of all the roads in the area to know them as that sign could be blocked or anything.

SamBoy991 wrote I believe they fail most people first time due to the fact they can get more money..

To say you passed your practical test first time I'm surprised you've come out with this - if you fail your practical its down to the mistakes you make, people that fail use the above excuse most of the time, or the other one "Failed me because X amount of people already passed today"

Just drive like a granny and exaggerate looking in your mirrors/ at blindspots... I passed first try without a single point being deducted.

No worries man, you definitely aren't alone. Just make sure that you constantly check your mirrors and monitor your speed. Other than that, I feel like most instructors don't note other little errors. I passed first try no points taken off at all

Good luck on your next attempt.
