Since low resolutions do not make a game worse, resolution doesn't matter.
What I can gather from you is this, you are completely happy with these frame rates and resolutions of these ,which is fine. But you are choosing to turn a blind eye against anything better simply because you think that everything is fine. But if you look at the bigger picture, these consoles are expected to last for 5 years + and if these consoles are outdated already then it is worrying for most people and could be seen as a waste of 300-400 when you could get a PC that will outperform these at a similar price with all the benefits of PC. Technology is advancing so quickly, in a few years there may be no reason to buy one of these consoles.
I truly hate it when people say ignorant things like that. You can't make a $400 (in USD) rig that will even meet the consoles specs, let alone exceed them. $100 of that goes to buying Windows. (because NOBODY has a Windows key lying around and 90% of us don't want to pirate it) That leaves $300 to pay for: a motherboard, case, PSU, RAM (at least 8 gigs, since that's what consoles use), hard drive, a GPU that meets or exceeds the performance of the consoles, a CPU that meets or exceeds the performance of the console and shipping (because we're being practical, shipping money doesn't fall from the sky).
That's assuming the person paying for the rig already has a mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers and other peripherals on hand, which usually isn't the case. (I know I don't have that stuff just lying around) But please, go put together a $400 rig w/ a legit copy of Windows and specs that beat a PS4 or Xbox One since it seems to be soo easy.
My cousin and I built a PC for a little over $500 last year and it out performs all of the consoles. We just used his brothers windows 7 disc and kept ignoring all of the alerts for the next month. Eventually all of the alerts went away and he basically got windows 7 for free. I don't recommend trying that as it might not work as it did for us. In the long run you do end up saving money by gaming on a PC because of the sales and humble bundles.

So I guess you like seeing pixels? I like my 2D games to look like they are in nice vector images.

+1, if someone can link me to a build for $400 that has better graphics than the Xbox One/PS4 (legit copy of Windows and peripherals + monitor included), I will buy it.

You cannot do it with $400 but it can be done just a little over $500. What most console gamers seem to forget is how much cheaper it is to just buy a PC because of the prices in the games. $120 would get you 2-3 Xbox games. $120 would get you a dozen or more PC games.

+1, if someone can link me to a build for $400 that has better graphics than the Potato One/Potato 4 (legit copy of Windows and peripherals + monitor included), I will buy it.
Bearing in mind, PS4 and XB1 Games cost around $40+ on release 2 games would put you back $80 which could buy you added RAM, an SSD, better video card to make it even more superior to the next gen consoles. In Contrast there are thousands of F2P games and indie games on steam as well as some very popular games such as Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2. Metro Last Light, Bioshock infinite all going under $10 in the Steam Sales.
You also have to pay to play online on PS4 and XB1.
CPU - AMD Athlon X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor $79.49 @ OutletPC
Motherboard - ASRock FM2A55M-VG3+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard $45.99 @ Mwave
Memory - Patriot Viper 3 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $42.99 @ Newegg
Storage - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Harddrive $52.91 @ OutletPC
Video Card - XFX Radeon R9 270x 2GB Video Card $142.98 @ SuperBiiz
Case - Rosewill RANGER-M MicroATX Mini Tower Case $29.99 @ Amazon
Power Supply - EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply $19.99 @ Micro Center
TOTAL - $414.34
You can use an xbox controller, play station controller or anything you want, you are not restricted to certain things like on consoles so you can easily plug this into your TV and be set without the need for a keyboard and mouse.
Considering that both next-gen potatoes have significantly less processing power than this build (especially when you look at real-world gaming performance), this PC will have you absolutely set. You can run it at higher resolutions, higher detail levels, and higher framerates than the equivalent so-called "next-gen" potatoes. Also, since it's a PC, you have the freedom to adjust your settings accordingly (for example: if you want 120FPS, you can just lower the graphical settings or resolution to something like a potato (or even lower if you really wanted to). The Athlon X4 offers more than enough CPU power for modern gaming, sometimes even coming within arm's reach of an i5-4670k .

I own an Xbox One, and overall I am happy with the console, despite what people say.
It's updated regularly, the games (although not a ton of them) look beautiful, and play smoothly, plus, the console has not frozen once, compared to other consoles I've owned in the past.
