The problem with this being so low isn't that it's the phat console that has 80GB, it's that there's a risk that it could be a banned console and or broken. Who knows what you're getting. I know he's coming out to you, but If I were you, I'd request testing it out before any money changes hands, just in case.
Isn't the 80GB phat console the one with backwards capability? If so, I'd imagine this person could have sold it for even more.

Oh. You haven't read my recent posts. I should probably edit the OP. lol.
The current console I'm looking at isn't banned from PSN. It hasn't even been jailbroken yet. I'll be going over to his workplace tomorrow morning to pick it up (if I decide to go through with it - I'll sleep on it). He said I'd be able to test it there.
No, it isn't backwards compatible. I believe that's only the 20GB and 40GB models.

Chicago. It takes some time to find one though, but when you do, they're usually priced pretty low.
There are some 120GB slims here for sale for $120. They are used and on 4.60 (or w/e the latest update is lol); however, I believe the ones sold for such a low price are unable to be downgraded (CECH-300x).
