When game sharing, say if only I want to get a game from my friend and he doesn't want any from me. Do I only need his account or does he need mine too?

You only need his, he won't require yours at all.

Does it still work? We are doing it right now, and none of the games are showing up as ready to install. What is the problem?

Have you set his account on your xbox as "home xbox"?

If not- when you're signed into his account go to settings>my account>set home xbox

Yes I have already done that, but it's only showing his downloaded apps, not games.
